artist statment
I can't explain my work because most of the time I don't understand it either. I work from imagination, gay porn, still lives, self-portraits, old photography, found objects, stuffed animals and empty liquor bottles. Lately I've been getting more into sketchbook work partially because I'm a sucker for nostalgia and I'm always trying to document the moment. I paint with acrylic on found surfaces, canvas, paper, or plastic and build things out of trash. Although I have different themes in my work, it is nearly impossible for me to concentrate on more than one specific direction for too long. Also my writing is misspelled poetry that's more or less stream of consciousness. For now, I'm trying to embrace my manic compulsive artistic tendencies.
